UPCOMING
Call and Response
by Liz Lessner
Exhibition: May 4- June 9, 2018
Opening Reception: May 4, 6-9pm

Liz Lessner is a New York based artist who is currently exploring interative sculptures and installations. They range from objects to installational sculptures that are augmented by the viewer’s performance. These performative installations imply the body or its placement and ask the viewer to physically interact with them. In this work the viewer becomes a graphic part of the sculpture while also having a unique and personal experience of it. Both types of work stem from a framing of resonant gestures that ritualize and familiarize psychological narratives and personal memories. These sculptures consider social feedback loops, popular narratives of desire, as well as mythology and nostalgia and the fetishism that both imply.

 NOW SHOWING

Through A Looking Glass, Urban Perspectives
 by Regina Miele

Exhibition: March 16 – April 21, 2018
Opening Reception: March 16, 6 – 9 pm

Regina Miele, a classically trained painter with a highly-disciplined ethic for realizing representational scenes, explores the fundamental tenets of order and place. Working closely within cityscapes, she draws out beauty in the often overlooked. For the past decade, Meile’s principle subject has been the physicality of an ever-changing and gentrifying District of Columbia, the blighted and transitional areas where artists often find themselves living and working.
