Cultural anthropologist and curator Niama Safia Sandy brings together seven artists for Black Magic: Afro Pasts/Afro Futures. The exhibition is a multidisciplinary expression of Afrofuturism and Magical Realism exploring the recurrent themes of the Black Diaspora. The artists invoke the shared pasts of people of African descent and project their future through the historical, sonic, visual and metaphysical memories and possibilities that their ancestry affords.
